Casa

Casa is the realization of a 20-year dream shared by many in the Lethbridge arts community to expand or replace the Bowman Arts Centre. This unique facility not only fulfils that vision but far surpasses it, setting a new standard for interdisciplinary arts centres. Casa is a space for experimentation, incubation, learning, and growth, designed to support a multi-generational community with a wide range of skill levels and artistic interests across all disciplines.

The building’s design was developed through a comprehensive, collaborative process led by Nyhoff Architecture (Calgary), in partnership with local firm Ferrari Westwood Babits. The architectural team visited numerous arts education institutions and consulted extensively with the local arts community to define the needs of a truly functional 42,000-square-foot arts centre. The result is a space that is both thoughtfully designed and visually impressive.
