Ascent Climbing Centre

The Ascent Climbing Centre, located within the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness at the University of Lethbridge, offers a dynamic indoor climbing experience for all skill levels. With 2,000 square feet of modular climbing and a large bouldering cave, visitors can enjoy drop-in access, beginner lessons, lead and rappelling courses, and youth programs.

Metered parking is available, and climbers must bring a belay-certified partner during open climb times. Auto belays provide an option for solo climbers after a brief orientation. First-time visitors must complete a waiver, with minors requiring a parent or legal guardian’s signature.

The facility features a bouldering cave for low-height, rope-free climbing, accessible after a quick orientation. Group bookings are available throughout the year, except in July and August. Whether you're trying climbing for the first time or looking to develop your skills, the Ascent Climbing Centre offers a welcoming space to challenge yourself and have fun.
