Karen Anderson founded Alberta Food Tours in 2006 after a 21-year career in nursing. Today, her team of 20 delivers award-winning culinary experiences across Calgary, Canmore, Banff, and Edmonton, including the 2023 Global Culinary Travel Award for Best Program to Promote Culinary Culture to Visitors.
Karen is also an acclaimed author, earning honours from Taste Canada, the IPPY Awards, and the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Her latest book, Eat Alberta First: A Year of Local Recipes from Where the Prairies Meet the Mountains, earned a Silver Medal at the 2024 Taste Canada Awards.
An avid hiker, golfer, and cyclist, Karen finds joy in the outdoors, daily yoga and meditation, and cooking for the people she loves.
