Learn the Japanese art of Furoshiki, wrapping gifts in material, scarves, and reusable items. Learn how to cut down on your holiday waste!
Have a wasteless holiday season! Learn how to wrap gifts in reusable items, re-purposed material, scarves and clothing. Furoshiki is a Japanese art form that has been gaining popularity as it's a beautiful alternative to non-recyclable wrapping paper.
This workshop will be hosted by Environment Lethbridge in partnership with the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. We will be located in the gift shop which is on the north side of the path before walking into the gardens.
You are welcome to bring up to 3 gifts to wrap, we will have boxes (is it's easier to wrap items that have defined edges) and supplies but please bring the items you'd like to wrap - or come and learn, take home supplies an rewrap at home, its up to you but please limit to 3.
This workshop is by donations to help cover the cost of materials. There will also be a short presentation on tips to having a wasteless holiday season. Please register your attendance in advance. If you prefer to donate in person, please email Environment Lethbridge directly to register.
