Lisa Klakulak from Strongfelt will discuss the progression of her felt work, both technically and conceptually, during her artist residency from 2002-2005 and how this intensive focus prepared her for a career in education and the fine art & craft field. Join her journey as she shares images of inspiration from her international travels alongside the work it continues to influence. A one-hour slide lecture followed by a question/answer and viewing of Lisa’s STRONGFELT works.

Thu AUG 28 | The Felt Art of Lisa Klakulak
Lisa Klakulak received a BFA in Fiber Arts (1997) from Colorado State University with independent studies in natural dyes and was an Artist in Residence at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, TN from 2002-2005 where she explored the medium of felt in great depth. Currently, Klakulak creates wearable textiles, accessories and sculpture in her Asheville, NC studio, instructs workshops both nationally and internationally and exhibits at national fiber and fine craft exhibitions.
Klakulak’s work has appeared in Fiber Arts Magazine, Surface Design Journal, Shuttle, Spindle, Dyepot, American Craft and numerous Lark Book Publications. For more information, visit www.strongfelt.com.
