Introducing The Only Cat Skiing in Alberta

Monday, January 18, 2010

The only cat skiing operation in Alberta and one of the few resort based cat skiing operations in western North America will start to thrill guests at Castle Mountain Resort starting Thursday January 28, 2010.
This lift assisted Cat Skiing will utilize the Huckleberry Chair and then the Great Divide Adventures Snow-Cat to whisk people up Mount Haig. The new terrain offers a variety of runs, great snow and beautiful scenery. Terrain that was formerly backcountry skiing is now within the Resort operations and adds an additional 600 acres of terrain of undeveloped powder stashes.
The Powder Stagecoach will operate Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and can accommodate up to 24 people. Avalanche beacons, probes and shovels are required equipment and can be rented through Castle Mountain Pro Shop at the Resort. Castle Mountain is excited to introduce this backcountry adventure to the list of exhilarating experiences available at the resort.
